Sports Specialism Winner at Sirius
The fantastic prize draw competition saw The lucky winner, Harry Poole of Devon Street Hull from Wheeler Primary School win a top of the range Mountain Bike and accessories. With the focus of Sirius being sports and environmental Science, it is rather fitting that the Competition winner of the prize draw at the very 1st Sirius Opening evening was going to win a fantastic Mountain Bike in the shade of green which is the Sirius logo colour, and actually it turns out to be the winners preference.
On the open evening prospective learners had the opportunity to visit key curriculum areas, meet the teachers and get a feel for the building which will host the new Sirius Academy before the complete re-build starts in Harry’s Second year. Harry has a sister at the current School who will be transferring over to Sirius, his sister and Mum came along with him to KC stadium to be presented with the prize by Head of School for Sport at Hull College ‘June Omond’.
June Omond, said, Harry was really pleased with his prize and, when talking with him, excited about his future opportunities within a City Academy. I share his enthusiasm and I look forward to Hull College linking with Sirius Academy and, hopefully working alongside the Academy creating opportunities in Sport, as this links directly to my school in the college.
Harry and Mrs Poole said they were impressed with the information they had received so far and were looking forward to the changes and focus the Academy promises.
Harry left the stadium – riding his bike with his new helmet and lights…
